(More customer reviews)I bought this tool assuming I would have to adapt it to my old craftsman lathe. I think this tool is made for a 12 inch swing. My lathe has a 10 inch swing. I was correct. After I rebuilt mounts so it would work on my lathe it worked great. Do keep in mind though it does not give you a finished product. It only roughs out the turning to the point it can be finished with coarse sand paper. Also keep in mind the finger that fallows the original profile will only work in direction from thick to thinner. It will not follow profiles going up over a hump. You have to manually lift the head up onto the risen area and turn to the recessed area. This tool by no means automatically makes a turned duplicate, but with constant manual manipulation it will do close enough duplicate
