I have a feeling that the instructions were not read and the air bleed screw was not opened! This splitter works very well, if you don't abuse it. Follow the INSTRUCTIONS for size of logs and you will be fine. Remember it's not gas, nor a 30 ton ram. It does a heck of alot for only 4 tons of psi. The only complaint is the packaging. Although someone was smarter this time. The box came wrapped in heavy packing tape all around. But something needs to be done about the styrofoam. It's not strong enough to support 110 lbs. Especially when you have careless UPS employees who throw your packages like lawn darts. Poor Homier must spend alot on broken parts due to shipping. A few dollars more on packing would offset that! I lucked out with mine. Only the back plate was bent. That was a simple fix. But it's luck of the draw to have one make it safely to you!. When you get it though. It's the best $268 bucks i've spent in a long time. Especially now a days.
