(More customer reviews)I bought this unit for $399+tax during an extremely hot day. The unit uses about 1050-1200watts, so it is not that efficient in my opinion. A major problem that some people will have is that the exhaust window panel included with the unit is only for windows larger than 22-inches (I did not know that, as my window is smaller than 22-inches (sliding). The unit is not that quiet - it is like having a powerful-fan on. Although the air coming from the unit is somewhat cool, it is not acceptable (feels the same as if you wet yourself and turn on the fan), I think that Sharp may have been really cheap and not filled the unit with enough refrigerant. I tested the unit in a small room (less than 200 square feet); the room's ambient temperature was 92-degrees Fahrenheit. I turned on the unit and left it on for an hour, I came back to the room and the temperature had only dropped 1-degree - ridiculous if you ask me, as there is no heat source other than the duct that connects to the AC-unit, which gets really hot - defeats the purpose. The same room is cooled within a few minutes with central-air. I have been duped! This unit is going back.

into the window was becoming too difficult. We've been quite pleased with it.
It is 90 deg out and a cool 77 deg inside cooling 600 sq ft. We keep the other
rooms closed off. I've also had the door of my office open for a while and it quicklycooled that space as well. The only thing I don't like is its large size and the fact that
the window attachment piece was too large for the 23" wide window we wanted to put it in and had
to cut the plastic piece down to fit.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for office wine storage (yes, I work in a strange office). Assembly was straightforward once I figured out where they had stored the screw-in front feet. (They're tucked in a corner in the styrofoam).
I wasn't pleased that the instructions called for a few hours of settling before powering it on, but I've had another wine fridge die on me within days of arrival (not this manufacturer or model), so I let it settle.
Settings are straightforward and it maintains the target temperature with almost no noise.
On the downside, the shelves have these metal fronts on them (You can see them in the pictures. The shelves are just wire frame, but there's a front piece). You can't insert or remove even a standard bottle without sliding the shelf out. It's a minor nit, but my home fridge doesn't have this problem, so it bothers me a bit.
We were a little worried when the box showed up. The exterior of the box was bashed in. The shippers clearly gave this item a "fun" ride. Amazon or the manufacturer expected that, though, I guess. It was double boxed, and the inside box (and the product) were fine.
I would buy this item again.

(More customer reviews)Purchased the Whynter WC-211DZ 21 bottle wine cooler for a couple of reasons. It was sized right to fit in a space just below my kitchen counter top and the reviews giving Whynter products more favorable ratings over competing products. The Wnynter is working well keeping both zones at my 58 degrees F setting which is my preferred setting for red wines. I would rate the quality of the Whynter good but not great. The slide out shelves feel kind of cheap. For this price point I'm still waiting for a product with slightly higher quality. The Whynter is fairly quiet although you can hear it running. As another reviewer mentioned the Whynter is designed for normal size bottles. It outputs a little heat out the side vents but nothing drastic. At this point I'm happy with my purchase. I will report back if I have any longevity problems.
