Distillation effectively removes contaminants such as bacteria, particles, dissolved solids and VOCs. Ordinary tap water is heated to 212°F, (100°C) killing bacteria, cysts and viruses that may be present. Steam rises leaving behind dissolved solids, salts, heavy metals and other substances.

(More customer reviews)We bought our distiller, which is like this one, years ago under the Kenmore name. We purchased it because we moved into a house with well water and we were expecting our first baby... and well, you know how it is, we were worried about water quality.
Well our darlin' is now 9 years old and the distiller is still going strong, providing us with flavorless water for drinking. Having lived with well water now, I can tell you that it prolongs the life of coffee machines and steamers by reducing mineral deposits on heating elements and what-not.
And we liked this machine enough that we have purchased another Waterwise unit. This second unit is more attractive, but to tell you the truth, I like this older version better. For one thing, it doesn't have any plastic tubing which can crack and/or leave plastic particles in the water.
If appearance isn't a problem, I'd definitely buy this distiller. This system is just simple and best. Ours has run for years and the only thing I would do differently is that I would clean it with vinegar more often so the mineral deposits wouldn't build up and make the interior so unaesthetic.
Notes: Like our other Waterwise, this distiller is fairly noisy.

(More customer reviews)Finally! We've been fixing up the house in bits and pieces and we finally got to the upstairs bath, and I can't tell you how much I rejoice in getting rid of that tiny, undersized builders vanity and the cheap faucet.
The thing I hate about the cheap faucets is that you have to cram your hands under their short little spouts, and if you have a shallow sink in a short vanity that means you've got them pretty darn far away from where you'd be comfortable if you didn't have to hunch down like you were born in Shakespeare's time, and a good foot shorter than you are.
With this faucet there's plenty of room to wash in, and in addition to the functionality, I have to say that this faucet is attractive and solidly made. In fact, when the plumber came to install it and the toilet, the first thing he said was 'oh, you went for the good stuff. Moen's what I have in my house'. And I have to tell you that though I'm not a plumbing hardware expert, as a former Realtor I know that Moen is a name that pleases buyers. It has to do with the warranty and the companies reputation.
THE SKINNY:::
Yes, this isn't a cheap faucet but it beautiful and functional and looks grand against the dark surface of the vanity. The handles fit adult and kid hands. The high arch means you can easily get a cup underneath.
