27" Big Clinker Ball Bearing Tile Cutter Review

I just got this cutter for a kitchen project. I'm using it to cut 12" (3/8" thick) porcelain tiles diagonally - straight corner to corner cuts mostly.
One note on using it - I had to sacrifice a few tiles while learning that you don't stick the tile all the way into the 45degree notch at the fence - the corner of the tile must not project further than it would if you were cutting it straight. (obvious now, but that corner cut out just seemed to be screaming to me to put the corner of the tile in there).
After I figured that out and stopped breaking my corners, I found it worked fairly well. But not perfectly. The cut would wander off on the last two inches of every fourth or fifth tile. Enough to bug me, but not enough to make me look for another solution.
I did notice that the cutting wheel on mine is not perfectly in line with the metal ridge that runs under the tile - I'm thinking that a small adjustment here may lower my junk tile rate.
But even as is, for thick porcelain tile, I'm not unhappy with the way it's been working. I think it's more a matter of me getting used to it than anything else.
I'll update this review after I use it more.
For now, I still think it's worth the money. Cheaper and faster than a tile saw, not to mention neater and easier to lug around. I still use an angle grinder for L cuts - but even one of those cheezy tiny wet saws might be a good alternative for that.
This thing is built solidy, feels like it'll last a lifetime. I haven't pushed it to see how thin of a piece it'll trim, but have had no problem trimming 1/2" along the straight edge of 12" tiles.

I just finished a bathroom consisting of 160 sq ft of tile and the MK-370 EXP did an excellent job. The tile was nearly 1/2" thick and the saw cut quickly with minimum effort and the motor did not bog down. The saw was a little loud while cutting tile, but was not disturbing. Saw will cut a full 18 inch tile. The saw has some minor problems which is why I gave it 4 stars. The table travels on an exposed rail/bearing setup and the splashing water washes away the grease quickly so you need to regrease often to prevent binding (silicone grease will help). The water pump is awkwardly placed and large tiles catch the hoses. The water outlets in the blade cover seem to clog easily as well. The little cast aluminum fence piece was not square to the table and the table has notches across the rear ledge that in certain positions will not allow the fence to be attached. This was a problem when I had to cut about 1 inch off of a dozen tiles--and I couldn't move the fence to the other side of the blade because there wasn't enough clearance with the saw support column. The water tray does not have a drain plug (you could drill a hole and buy one) so you have to lift the entire tray to empty. All in all, for the price and capabilities, I'm very pleased with the saw and its performance.

QEP 83200 24-Inch Bridge Tile Saw with Water Pump and Stand Review

I shopped everywhere for a tile saw. I had a kitchen counter (50 sq. ft.) and a kitchen and den floor to tile (650 sq. ft.). I originally bought a tile cutter and it only took me a few minutes to take that back. I bought this saw hoping it would be okay and also because it came with a stand. It worked almost flawlessly. The only problems I had were with the water pump and the slide on the back gauge for angle cuts was sticking on a screw that appeared to serve no purpose so I removed that. The pump would only come on if tapped, but after cutting about 100 tiles it seemed to operate fine from that point on. If I had one thing to change about the saw it would be the wheels on the bottom of the cart. That don't work that well, but that's something I will rectify shortly. I give it five stars because to me it was well worth the money. I would buy it all over again.
