(More customer reviews)Being in the custom home remodeling business I'm always demonstrating to clients how out of square or plumb their existing structure is. When it comes time to re-working the project I had to wrestle with a plumb bob or spend time squaring up. I've looked at the three other shooting type laser tools and found that the PLS5 is the best value for the money. Even the accessories are well thought out 'cause they help me layout square using their pendulum target and the wall bracket lets me position the laser anywhere on the job. It saves me a ton of time and I do more with my PLS5 than my little rotary laser. I need the accuracy and I like the fact that the beams settle down very fast. Squaring is easy because you shoot 90 degree angles as soon as you turn it on. I tried the RoboVector but could not use it much past 30 feet. Beams got too big and I never knew when it was in self leveling range. Sent it back. PLS5 is more money but I learned a long time ago that you usually get what you pay for. (More customer reviews)This tool is great. I used it to install patio pavers around my fire pit. Just set it on the tri-pod push the on button. The tool self levels and in a few minutes you are working. It is very easy and at less than $1000 it does not make sence to rent it for $250 a day.
My neighbor is a cement contractor and says he has Spectra on all of his job sites. He has been using the LL600 for the BIG jobs. But uses the LL300 for the rest.
If you need a Laser level go with the best "SPECTRA PRECISION"!!!!

(More customer reviews)I purchased this to help level a permanent wood foundation wall system. It allowed me to quickly and accurately place foundation wall sections without needing a level. The last wall piece joined up perfectly to the first piece I laid.
When using this outdoors in bright, direct sunlight, it only has an effective range of about 10 or possibly 15 feet with a lot of squinting. On overcast days or when using it in shadows I was able to pick out the line from 25-30 feet away. At night or when using this indoors, there is no difficulty in picking up the line at any (reasonable) distance.
