Gladiator GarageWorks GAGB272DRG Premier Modular GearBox Review

I am not a mechanic or a carpenter, but I have acquired most of the tools necessary to keep up a home and fences do minor projects over 30 years. I had a 50 sq ft tool room in my garage that made me very unhappy. You could not find anything except accidentally, and things just acreted to the room over time--if nobody knew where to put something, it ended up in the toolroom. There was no room to work, and there were tools in about 8 different tool boxes, but labels kept coming off of them over the years, so you had to go through them all to find anything.
In a fit of utter disgust and desperation, I first went to Sears to see what Craftsman had. To be short, their cabinets were more expensive and less well built and unavailable in town.
I had seen these before, so I orderd this from Amazon, together with the Modular Drawers and the Worksurface. The cabinets have bumpers on the fronts and sides, and they are really built tough. They won't stop a 9MM round, but the load bearing surfaces, the casters, the hinges and doors and top are all solid and well-finished (no rough or sharp edges). There is a substantial area of steel with pegboard holes inside the doors, so you can hang "thin" tools such as adjustable wrenches in those areas. The drawer/shelf (it has about a 1.5" lip on it) and is very sturdy. It assembles easily and quickly for even a guy like me is not the handiest. The magnetic seal on the doors means you don't have to lock it to keep the doors from opening. I use it to store all of my power tools in their cases, and it is great for that. My wife also thinks they are very attractive, and the surfaces seem to be easy to clean.

American Standard 7225.733.295 Hampton 3-Handle Tub and Shower Set, Satin Nickel Review

(More customer reviews)This item, American Standard 7225.733.295 Hampton Three-Handle Tub and Shower Faucet was part of the renovation to my bathroom this past summer. It works great and its brushed satin nickel surface blends in nicely with my new fiberglass bath tub / shower. The shower head is big and renders a copious amount of water, and the faucet handles operate very smoothly.
One problem - a small cover cap for one of the faucet handles was missing. It is a cosmetic item which would not affect the operation of the unit. Nevertheless, since this was a complete overhaul of my bathroom and I insisted that everything be complete. When I contacted Amazon about this oversight, I was advised that they (Amazon) did not supply missing or replacement parts, and I was advised to contact American Standard directly.
Upon approaching American Standard, I was disappointed to find that they offered absolutely NO online input from the customer. Instead, I was left with two modes of communication: phone and snail mail.
The phone option was a nightmare, as the lines were open roughly eight hours a day M-F. Six times and in vain, I attempted to contact them via their 800 number and in each instance was put on hold for roughly thirty minutes. In each instance I got disappointed and hung up.
Fortunately, the snail mail route ultimately proved successful, but not without problems. The first communication somehow got lost in the mail shuffle and after a month of no response, I sent them another letter, only this time with a bright colored "Urgent Message" sticker on the envelope. Within a few days I received a huge manila envelope with long sought after faucet cover cap.
This rather unpleasant experience has made me reluctant about purchasing any more American Standard products, as most plumbing supply outfits refuse to sell them or even their parts. A major overhaul in American Standard's customer service is needed if they are to compete with other plumbing giants!

Gladiator GarageWorks GATB302DRG Premier Tall GearBox Review

(More customer reviews)If you want something heavy duty, you want to buy this versus the ready-to-assemble (RTA) versions. These are welded construction. Having looked at the ready to assemble versions and compared it to this the welded versions are vastly superior. I am glad I purchased the 'premium' versions. If you want something just to look nice, but won't be doing much that is heavy duty, the RTA versions are probably fine.
Now the details:
Pros:
Price - overall as compared to competition, after much web searching, is fairly reasonable. They occassionally are 'on sale' on amazon and offer a really unbeatable price too all competition out there.
Casters - The caster set is included. I don't know anyone who puts this kind of heavy equipment for a garage directly on the floor. Keep this in mind when comparing prices between the RTA, but I don't think the casters are included in the RTA version of this item.
Easy Assembly - Assembly of the casters took 15 minutes.
Key Lock - There is a key lock that allows for easy movement without drawers opening or guarding your tools if you are using this at a jobsite / shared shop.
Construction - The welded construction is done very well. This can definitely support the amount of load they specify it to hold.
Door - The doorways have a built in magnetic strip that helps hold the doors closed. they didn't use a single magnet, but a strip of magnet which allows the entire door to look flush to the equipment. I have often had equipment where the 1 little magnet falls out or the door is bent and thus will no longer sit flush. I doubt the magnetic strip would hold the door was bent badly, but you could just bend the door back flat until it was close enough.
Hanldles - Flush door handles are a huge plus, especially for anyone who has ever caught their clothing etc. on a handle that sticks out on equipment.
Cons:
None that I can think of. I own 1 of these and three of the Gear Drawers and plan on buying multiple more as I build my home machine shop. This review is similar to my review of the Gladiator GarageWorks GAGD275DRG Premier Modular GearDrawer, as I have been very pleased with that item.
