(More customer reviews)This is a great versatile machine. Easy to maneuver, and takes quite a bit off. Much like a mini chainsaw. There's minimal kickback, and you can carve all day without much strain. Great for detail work up to a point. You can sculpt out main forms, and use detail grinders for the delicate work. Great product all around except for its incompatibility with other grinders (for those purchasing only the head unit) due to the nut hex. I recommend purchasing the complete unit instead. While switching and changing seems like a money saving venture, it's more headache than it's worth. It takes time to change out the head, and yet before you do so, you have to purchase the correct nut, because Arbortech's nut isn't universal. Trust me, it's a hassle you don't need. On Amazon, Treeline sells the complete unit for $213 because they are the only distributor here. It's a rip off. Buy it at Bailey's. I can't provide the link due to Amazon's linking policy. Just google it. They sell the complete set there for $169. Make sure you also purchase the carbide cutter. It's super for detail work that the stock carver blade is too crude for. Good luck.
Update as of 6/24/2010: I just recently bought a replacement carbide cutter blade from Bailey's for this tool and discovered that their price for this item has increased to $239. Just a heads up for those who didn't get the chance to purchase it when the price was low. Good luck.

The Mini-carver is excellent for carving and shaping fine detailed woodwork. The 2 inch diameter mini-carver blade together with the 6 inch long extension neck allows rapid stock removal and access into confined areas. Uses include model-making, toy-making, pattern making and most small carving projects. It can provide precision accuracy for relief carving and allows excellent control. Complete with 2 steel blades and 4 sanders.

Proxxon 38070 FKS/E Table Saw Review

(More customer reviews)As an amateur luthier (building guitars), there are some tasks that I do not want to do by hand. I also don't like using large table saws and other large power tools to do small intricate work. This Proxxon table saw is perfect for making bridges, cross cutting or ripping small lumber used for making guitars. It is very precise and easy to adjust. It is powerful enough to cut through rosewood blanks cleanly and the kerf on the standard blade is very thin which again, helps with the precision you can get out of this useful tool. I bought a cheaper brand mini-table saw once before, but it didn't have any guts and the motor quickly burned out. Also, adjusting it was really a pain. This Proxxon FKS/E is great. Another feature I like is the speed control dial for the blade. There is also a little chart in the lower left corner to tell you the settings for the type of material you're cutting. To me you can tell that the designers of this machine had people like me in mind when they made it.
Although this tool is small, please remember that it is a "table saw". Please don't think that it is a toy. You can cut your hand just as easily on this table saw as you could with a big one. It would be very easy to get lulled into thinking you can get away with an unsafe practice because it looks harmless. Think your work through just as you would using a large table saw. Use push sticks, featherboards or whatever to keep safe and stay clear of the blade. If what I just wrote stops even one person from injuring themself, I feel what I just stated is worth it.
This is truly a great tool and helps me make precision parts for my guitars easily and safely.

Bosch 1575A Foam Rubber Cutter Review

(More customer reviews)This item took over 2 1/2 weeks for delivery and did not come with the component pieces (foot plate, blades and blade guide as shown in the picture. When you go to the Bosch web site it specifically said it does not come with the pieces and needs to be ordered seperately. Amazon needs to do the same thing
