With the laser sensor attached to a 1x2 I knocked out leveling a patio in no time. Worked with line-levels, water-levels, and other cheap laser-levels. The self-leveling feature puts all other methods to shame. Have a ton of indoor and outdoor projects and the setup time saved alone justifies the investment.

We've added a detector to this AccuLine Pro self-leveling rotary laser level kit, increasing the unit's measuring range to 820 feet. Fully enclosed for protection and durability, this unit projects a continuous 360-degree self-leveling rotating beam in the horizontal plane. Used in the vertical plane with the included mounting adaptor, the unit can be leveled manually. Accurate to 3/8" at 100 feet for horizontal rotation and 5/8" at 100 feet for vertical rotation. An audible warning sounds when the unit is beyond its 3.5-degree self-leveling range. Three rotation speeds can be selected. A range scan mode provides two chalk line widths or a single point.

(More customer reviews)I have owned the LM30 about three years. I have had the same problems others here mention: spinning occasionally requires assistance and the level vials leaked. I contacted CST/Berger via email asking for repair cost and got a quick response without cost info. I replied asking again for cost of repair and received assurance on September 21, 2009: `The maximum cost your repair will reach is $125.00 plus shipping at which point they will replace your unit at that cost.' So I sent it in. I got a call for credit card info to start the repair, then another call saying the unit will have to be replaced - cost $150 plus shipping. I called to object and was told the price went up in February. I am still negotiating. The support people seem helpful, but I will not use this business again.

(More customer reviews)I purchased my CST/Berger 57-LM30 leveling laser level package from Amazon on 7/20/08 and started using it the last of Sept. I was bragging to everybody that would listen about this amazing tool. My neighbor mentioned he had bought one and it stopped working and was in for repair, I should have listened. After no more than 20 hours, the cap on top that rotates stopped turning and all the lights started flashing. I walked over to my neighbor to show him and he said it is what his did. But he had his back and had saved the return box and I could use it to send mine back. I called the 800# and they gave me a return number. In talking to the rep. I learned this was not uncommon and was not reassured it would not happen again. My neighbor told me. I could use his so I proceeded with my work, for about 3 hours. The next day when I set it up, again, the top would not rotate and the lights flashed. He had used his for about 15 hours since receiving it and we are both very upset. Mine is in for repair.
