GROHE 33758000 LadyLux Cafe High Profile Pull Out Kitchen Faucet, Chrome Review

I installed this faucet several years ago and thought it was great. When I moved and remodeled this kitchen, I installed a similar style by Moen which was fine. After several months I just HAD to replace it with this Grohe LadyLux because I missed it so much. It's such an excellent quality item AND! the tiny little rubber button that changes flow to spray cracked recently and when I called for replacement part they immediately shipped me a whole new head for FREE. Lifetime guarantees do mean something. Thank you Grohe!

If I could give it no stars - I would!
Product arrived damaged and/or used and vendor would not allow for return or even exchange as I was
over the return time by a few weeks. Explained that I left on a vacation just as item arrived
Even offered to send copy of travel documents!) and had no time to return.
Vendor's response was - "It was new, so couldn't possibly have been damaged! No return allowed"
Steer clear of this cheap vendor that won't work with customers to resolve a problem!!

I just installed this sink faucet yesterday and cannot predict what the long term reliability will be. But I will say that so far Moen has impressed me. It installed easily with picture only instructions. They even supplied the hoses (long ones) that connect to the water valves in the wall. My brother who is a plumber said that it was rare to include hoses. The shank on the faucet allows for any thickness of counter top with out the need to puchase adapters. I thought I had broken a part and called the 1-800 support number and was talking with a clear speaking tech in 2 minutes who fed-ex'd overnight a new part just in case I would need it. One thing I learned was that Moen is not going to short change you. The faucet feels and looks high quality. Plus I feel they go out of the way to be customer focused.

Beautiful product that is poorly designed, full of plastic, poorly engineered and will leave you disappointed. It is difficult to install. It has many filters and will leave you with poor water pressure. The soap dispenser didn't last a month, it broke very easily. This is one of the poorest "high-end" faucets I have ever bought. I will never do Price pfister again

Moen 87540 One-Handle Kitchen Faucet Review

Moen 87540 One-Handle Kitchen Faucet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this faucet early this year. It hung around, waiting to be installed, for months. Finally, the old one became unusable. My husband wanted nothing to do with installation and was happy to hire a plumber. Well....I wasn't. So, I embarked on my first "plumbing" job. My first (and only) problem was getting the old one out. I called customer service at Moen and a highly qualified gentleman advised me how to uninstall the old faucet. He was competent, articulate, and, best of all, was not the least bit condescending: he gave me the confidence and information I needed to complete the job. With the old faucet out, in went the new, with great ease. I needed a connection part and was able to find it easily at the hardware store, thanks to my friend at Moen.
The only reason I gave this only 4 stars is because of the decreased water pressure. That, of course, is a result of the water saving feature but I find it just a little too decreased. If I use the spray feature, however, the pressure seems to be normal. The faucet is very easy to use and very attractive.

Pegasus 78CR557EX Commercial Style Side-Action Faucet Sprayer, Chrome Review

Pegasus 78CR557EX Commercial Style Side-Action Faucet Sprayer, Chrome
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

This Pegasus faucet is simply an awful product. If our experience is any guide, you should not buy it.
I received it as a gift (I would never have bought it myself) and had it installed it by a professional plumber, whose fee was $100, in January of 2008.
Here are the problems. So far.
(1) The faucet actually reaches a SHORTER distance out over the sink than our previous, regular faucet, which is the opposite of what I expected and hoped for.
Also, although I was hoping the bottommost part of the spray head would be significantly higher than our previous faucet's, it turned to be only about an inch higher.
(2) The design is such that when you run hot water for a few seconds and grab hold of the spray head, which you are expected to do, if you don't hold it just right YOU WILL BE BURNED BY HOT STEEL.
(3) When you remove the spray head, the arm that holds it is in the way about half the time, which means you have to take the time to move it out of the way. Obviously this isn't a problem with regular faucets.
(4) In June of 2008 the spray head began to fail. The way it's supposed to work is that when you press the lever on the spray head, it switches from a stream to a spray, and when you let go of the lever it switches back to a stream.
But now, only six months after installation, if you don't press the lever then only half the water comes out in a single stream while the other half comes out in a spray. This is not at all what you want.
If you're looking to fill a small-mouthed container, half the water goes into the mouth and the other half, from the unbidden spray, lands outside the mouth. If you're filling a canvas-covered canteen, for example, you will get the canvas wet whether you mean to or not, and you might find some on your new blue suede shoes as well. The only solution I've come up with is to use a funnel to capture the unwanted spray, which is absurd.
(5) If you had been running hot water and then switch to cold, the water that comes out of the stream is cold as you would expect, but the water coming out in the unwanted spray for a while is still hot -- HOT ENOUGH TO BURN YOU. And, of course, you are also not getting all cold water as you wanted.
(6) Some of the spray holes are failing in such a way that their little streams now spray kind of sideways, which means even if you're pointing the head straight down, some water can spray outside the sink and onto the counter or the floor or your clothes or your hydrophobic cat.
(7) The flexible arm the head is attached to is so short and so inflexible that in some circumstances, in order to reach around to all sides of, say, a large pot, you have to pull the spring out of the stem, which I'm sure is a practice not intended by the designers at Pegasus. A normal, separate sprayer on a flexible plastic hose is much better. Same if you want to douse a fire; you'd better hope it's close by.
(8) The handle that controls the temperature and water volume frequently comes unscrewed. About every third time we go to use the faucet we have to remember to re-tighten the handle. Either the handle should have been made an integral part of the piece it screws into or the package should have included a tube of Loc-Tite. Again, absurd.
(9) Other faucets that offer a spray as well as a stream allow you to pick the spray option, set it, and forget it. This makes sense, because it leaves both hands free. But not this Pegasus faucet. If you want to use the spray option you have to press AND HOLD DOWN the lever. This is a truly moronic design flaw.
(10) The spray head now wants to come loose unless you are careful to press it pretty hard up into its cradle. (I expect the problem to get progressively worse.)
And, unfortunately, every time you do this you put strain on the numerous and varied connections, from the spray head all the way to the sink itself. Based on what I've learned so far about this Pegasus faucet, I don't expect it to suffer this strain well.
(11) This Pegasus faucet is effectively impossible to keep as sanitary as you would like. It's almost as though the designers wanted to create as many surfaces as possible that could not be cleaned. Because cleaning them is impossible unless you go to extraordinary lengths, those surfaces will inevitably accumulate more and more bacteria and viruses and germs and other pathogenic microbes over time, not to mention just plain old grease and filth and crud. Ick.
The spring that's coiled around the hose is both long and large in diameter, and it's set pretty close to the hose. What this means is that there is no way to clean more than the outside half of it, and even that would take a great deal of effort, especially since you can't use the faucet! Scrubbing the inside half of that spring is, for all practical purposes, impossible while it is in situ. The only option I've thought of is finding the right tools, turning off the hot and cold lines, and then disassembling the head from the hose, which would allow you to remove the spring, which you could then run through the dishwasher or maybe the self-cleaning cycle of your oven or maybe the degreaser at your local garage followed by a bleach bath and rinse, although I have to wonder how well the chrome will hold up.
But worse is the hose itself. The designers, and everyone else at Pegasus who approved this product, decided it was a pretty darned good idea to use an exposed braided-metal hose. If you take a look at this braided-metal hose you will see that it contains literally hundreds of thousands of surfaces onto which evil can settle and later disperse itself. Yet most of these many surfaces are effectively immune to cleaning by, say, scrubbing with soap and water even if you could get at them.
At the time it was purchased this unit was the single most expensive faucet in the entire store.
Because of the extraordinary number of design defects and other problems in this supposedly high-end faucet, one may legitimately question how well other Pegasus products are designed and built.

Moen 7590SL Aberdeen Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Pullout Spout, Stainless (Not CA / VT Compliant)
Average Reviews:

This faucet looks beautiful in our remodeled kitchen, but I likely wouldn't buy it again - here's why:
1) Because of the way our pipes are aligned under the sink, the pull-out hose weight needs to be in a position which makes the hose rather short or else the weight will get hung up on the pipes and not allow the faucet head to fully retract.
2) Regular use and movement of the pull out faucet causes the faucet head to loosen over time, and has to be re-tightened by occasionally - not a big deal, but have had a few little water unwanted water sprays from the loose connection.
I have seen an ad (Delta, maybe?) for a similar-looking faucet that that has a magnetized faucet head to make sure the pull-out faucet retracts securely back in place. I would look for that feature if I had to buy a faucet all over again.

Danze D404214 Opulence Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Spray, Chrome Review

Danze D404214 Opulence Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Spray, Chrome
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In reference to the Danze D404214SS Opulence Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet. It looked great so i bought it. Fresh out of the box and installed it had two problems, and eventually as i found out it had four problems.
1. Even when you turn the faucet off it continued to run slightly, unless you really force the handle up. I MEAN REALLY FORCE IT, and it has to be perfectly centered. I MEAN REALLY PERFECTLY! Even so, eventually it will start to run again.
2. Even with the aerator screwed on tight water leaks around and out of the top of the end cap.
The plumber - who is a master plumber chuckled and said...junk. I guess he thought that would make me feel better. I actually called Danze and the rather terse and inconvenienced person (from somewhere far, far to the east of here) said he would send me a "cartridge."
I guess he assumed that I installed faucets for a living. I asked what is a cartidge?, whereupon he said, 'it goes inside". WOW, the clouds parted and sunlight bathed my higher chakras. It was all clear to me.
STERLING CUSTOMER SERVICE DON'T YOU THINK!!
I finally received the cartridge and yes it did correct the leak. A friend of mine has the same faucet and noticed that on his faucet you pull the handle out (away from the stem} to turn it on, while on mine you push it towards the stem. It turns out that not only was the cartridge defective, it was installed upside down! We then corrected the problem...I was quickly becoming a faucet expert!!
Finally the top part of the faucet, the part that revolves, was always very loose. I thought that was the way it was supposed to be, until my friend asked, "why is this so loose". Using a pliers we had to tighten the top screw cap, which in order to keep the faucet correctly tightened required lots of force. enough to mar the finish (yes we did wrap a cloth around it first).
It is regrettable that so many products I have purchased over the past few years are so poorly manufactured. This Danze piece is the last in a long line of Items I now refer to as a POC (pronounced "POCK") which is an acronym for Piece Of Crap. It turns out that POCs are most often MICs (Made In China). Actually I have found as a rule all MICs are POCs, but not all POCs are MICs
Don't let the charm and good looks fool you. I will never order a Danze product again. So there it is...FOUR things wrong with a faucet. i can understand four things wrong with a car, four things wrong with the Space Shuttle, but sheesh...a faucet. If your the type that looks for good looks alone, buy it. If on the other hand you seek a deeper relationship, like a faucet that works...avoid this item. The product sucks and so does customer service.
Addendum - I called Danze again to order a new aerator as it continued to leak. I received it and it leaked just the same. I installed some silicone tape around the thread and that helped.
I am beginning to think I was sold a used product...shame on 3rd party Danny K for selling it to me. I will consider carefully next time when ordering from third party vendors through Amazon.

Faucet design is a matter of taste, but I think this one is among the nicest looking in the same category of faucets. I am not a big fan of the feature that requires you to turn the water off and then back on to switch off the spray feature, but that's not a deal breaker for me. In terms of other features and performance, I have no complaints. I did have one easily resolvable problem though.
After owning the faucet for a little over a year, I started to expereince dripping under the sink, below the handle section. I think this is similar to the problem reported by a previous reviewer here who seemed to needlessly buy a whole new faucet as a result. I called Price Pfister about the problem and was very impressed with their customer service. When I called the 1-800 customer service number, I got through to an agent quickly and explained the problem. The agent said there is an easily replaceable cartridge that fits inside the handle, and this cartridge was the culprit of the leak. So they sent me an improved, redesigned cartridge (part #: 974-035) and a new brass retainer nut (part # 941-7110) to replace the older parts which originally shipped with the faucet. Since the faucet is covered under their 10 year warranty, these replacement parts were sent to me free of charge -- I paid just $5 for shipping and got them within a few days. Replacing this cartridge and retainer ring in the handle was extremely easy, and the instructions for doing this are included with the original faucet or they can be found on the Price Pfister web site. Replacing these parts does not involve getting under your sink. You just pop off the faucet handle after loosening with an allen wrench and then unscrew a retainer ring. The cartridge pulls right out (and be sure to pull out the washer too if that doesn't come up with the old cartridge). Problem solved.
As far as I can tell, comparable faucets are at least $100 more than this one, and in some cases they are not nearly as attractive. Unless the thought bothers you of possibly being out $5, for an easily replaceable part, and 5 minutes of your time, in the event this handle leak is even common, then I would definitely recommend this faucet. NOTE: I purchased this faucet a couple years ago, so it's possible that the improved cartridge ships with newly purchased faucets anyway.
I've never had an issue with the handle as one reviewer reported, but if I did I would not hesitate to call Price Pfister for a replacement part. Any faucet has the potential to break, and so a good warranty which allows for free replacement parts, good customer service and a design that allows for easy replacement by the customer are all pluses in my book.

We have used this faucet set for over a year, very pleased. The handle on the control valve got a little loose. I removed the little "Moen" symbol to tighten the handle. No allen wrenches I had fit the setscrew. After a call to customer service I was told that it is 7/64" Allen wrench. I managed to find that size in a store called "Fastenall". Bought two and added 1 to my tools and 1 taped to the instruction booklet.

Average Reviews:

Right out of the box I could tell the unit was high quality and much to my delight the directions were highly useful! I loved how well the unit fit - even with the stainless steel counter adapter (included in the box). If you have a stainless counter top make sure you use the recommended adapter... the faucet is meaty and needs the added support. Everything snapped together easily. I will caution buyers to make sure they carefully do a dry-run of the assembly. Once I was into the cavern under my sink I had a hard time negotiating my way past the plumbing to where I needed to get my hands. I inadvertently snapped the incorrect line onto the faucet handle and had to get it off. The click locks are difficult to get off once snapped into place, so do it right the first time. I did get it right the second time but almost lost a piece of the snap mechanism down into the abyss of the holes in the floorboards.
The unit has been in place now for over six months and other than having to retighten the nuts under the counter (my fault for not doing it right the first time) the faucet is a joy to have.

This faucet has been installed for 4 years. I like the faucet, but the quality is just not there. The white finish has already failed on the handle, exposing bare metal; pull-out spray head discolored yellow-white in stark contrast to the rest of the faucet; where faucet swivels on base plate, seal has failed, both parts have rusted and the spout grinds when you move it from side to side. This is the worst faucet ever made. My husband is a kitchen and bath designer/installer and he has nothing but problems with this faucet. We bought this faucet for our house 9 years ago before we knew just how bad it was. The handles are constantly turning becuase of the bad design that does not allow tightening of the control valves to the sink. When I turn the water on, the hole spout shakes like it is going to shoot out of the sink. We have ordered numerous parts to amend these issues with no success. I DO NOT recommend this faucet.

Love this faucet. We just renovated our kitchen and had a different (less expensive) faucet installed and we hated it. We replaced it with this Kohler faucet and are very happy. Great pressure and reach all around the sink. We use this as our primary (and only) faucet - it is plenty big.

Hansgrohe Metro E High Arc Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet, Stainless Steel Optic #06697860 Review

We purchased this kitchen faucet at Costco and had it installed by a plumber. The plumber said it was one of the highest quality faucets he's installed. Stainless steel parts throughout with a high end ceramic valve - he couldn't believe the price. We've been using it for several months now and it's been great. No problems, no leaks, no complaints. We get a lot of compliments on the way it looks, it looks better out of the box than in the pictures. There are some nice subtle features engineered into the product that deserve mention. The pull-out locks back into place with a magnet that aligns it so that the nozzle is ready for use next time, gives a nice click to let you know that it's secure. The faucet can be pulled out of the base for easy cleaning. We actually like the spray button that turns off after you release it. Not sure I understand the review below that doesn't like this feature, maybe it's more of a preference thing. We think it's convenient and requires less manipulation and dexterity. Overall, we've found this to be a fantastic faucet and would highly recommend it to anybody considering purchasing it.

I looked for a long time for a white modern faucet with a pull down spray. This is beautiful. It is large, so appropriate for a larger kitchen. It is easy and convenient to use. I would definitely recommend this faucet.
