EDITED to add comments after 6 months of use:
People continue to curse at the stupid design of the water dispenser, and continue to spill water all over the place. Reducing the star rating from original 3 stars to 2. I would NOT recommend this unit, especially for the asking price. If you can find one on clearance, maybe, but again, there is NOTHING special about this that qualifies it to be priced above $1K imo.
ONE year warranty people...that should tell you something right there.
**********
Replaced a GE fridge with this model:
Due to my space limitations, I narrowed it down to the similar Kitchenaid model (kind of wish I had gone for this), and the Whirlpool at the same level. Bought online sight unseen fwiw.
Honestly, I don't see why the "PROFESSIONAL" designation on this. Nothing about the quality makes me think it's anything other than a very average refrigerator. Cheap, plastic bins just like every other average unit I have seen.
PROS:
- Best thing about this is the good looking AND practical stainless steel finish. It's great really - NO smudging (except on the handles) AND it's magnetic (something rare in SS models).
- "theater" lighting...when you open the doors at night, supposedly it doesn't blind you immediately, but rather gradually, as the lights ramp up
- Has a changeable air filter. I like this...no more arm and hammer boxes taking up space and tipping over. OTOH, another filter to replace.
- External, digital temp controls for both sides. I like the idea of this...but in reality, how often are you going to be changing the temperature? If you have to change it a lot, maybe there is a problem with the thermostat?
- this is a small thing, but I really like that some of the side compartments in the fridge have a non slip surface. Very nice touch. Instead of your jars of jelly sliding around and clanking into each other (except when the door closes, see below), things stay nicely in place.CONS:
- OMG THE DOOR SLAM. This one kills me, and for such a small thing, makes such a big negative impression because it's EVERY time you deal with the fridge. When you close the door, there is NO "cushion" for lack of a better or more technical word. On my very low end GE (and most every fridge out there for that matter), there is a built in governor I guess that slows the speed of the door so it doesn't just slam closed. I think what happens is that the resistance is just greater as you approach the closed position. Whatever that feature is, WP for some reason decided to leave it out on this fridge (maybe none of theirs have this, no idea). It is sooo annoying. We have gotten used to it more or less, and most of the time we carefully and slowly close the door so it doesn't rattle the whole kitchen. But anybody else (who of course is also used to the normal, slower fridge door behavior) closing the fridge door is always startled and usually jumps when the door SLAMS shut with a huge rattle. This is just piss poor design imo, and is a big negative. I am sure we will eventually get used to it, but shouldn't have to.
- another horrible, non standard design implementation re: water dispener. Unless you have an extremely wide cup (think wide coffee mug or even soup bowl/mug, you can't just push your glass into the unit expecting water to hit. Nooooo. Because of the design, any normal rim sized glass will be overshot by the water squirter, so you have to wrap your hand around the glass and then insert, to make up for the space. Never seen another fridge with this problem, and like the door slam issue, because it's so unusual, every time someone not living in our house goes for water, they end up getting it all over them and the floor. That tells you right there it's not just me being picky. I swear they designed the thing and never actually tested it in a real live situation. Inexcusable imo.
Because these two things have relatively easy workarounds, I am not going to go into below average territory. I doubt there is a perfect fridge out there, but I do wish I had gone for the Kitchenaid. I wonder if their engineers made similar mistakes.
3 stars, barely, and that is assuming that this unit will last many years w/o probs.
IMO, look at the Kitchenaid before buying this one.

Nikken PiMag Aqua Pour Gravity Water System Review

Nikken PiMag Aqua Pour Gravity Water System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I searched for the best water purification technique available primarily because I was shocked at the state of our drinking water and I couldn't just go on blindly dumping chemicals into my body. My criterion was to remove all added chemicals from my drinking water including Fluoride and as an Engineer with a scientific background I needed scientific backing.
Note: The usage of Fluoride in our water systems is controversial, but Ninety-seven percent of western Europe has eliminated fluoride from drinking water. goggle "Fluorosis" and "fluoride side effects", read the article on "about dot com" on "fluoride removal". Read the article on "livestrong dot com" on "side effects of fluoride ingestion". I quote, "Fluoride ingestion has been associated with adverse health effects such as IQ deficits in children, depression, weight gain and heart disease. The "Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics" reports that "high fluoride intake has a damaging effect on intellectual ability," and human studies from China, India, Iran and Mexico found that elevated levels of fluoride in children resulted in reduced performance and impaired development of intelligence. The U.S. National Research Council has also found that fluoride affects normal endocrine function, which may contribute to hypothyroidism, or reduced activity of the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism can lead to fatigue, depression, weight gain, hair loss, muscle pains and heart disease.
I started off with on a friends recommendation the Nikken Pi-Mag which i soon rejected because they independent lab results were not available, fluorine was not removed from the water and I could not trust a MLM companies claims' that were not scientifically verifiable.
I looked at Aquasana and Multipure's product line but I became obvious that the life expectancy was about a year and I would deal with leaks, and defective housing. The reviews for the New Wave were 10Stage Filter were promising on amazon and I bought it right away, but soon grew suspicious of their claims as there were no results posted on their website either. I called New Wave customer service which I must add was great and friendly and asked for the independent lab results, which they emailed. After analyzing the results I was disappointed to see that a company that makes water filters provided results from a lab called, Truesdale lab but back in 1995 (15yrs ago!). Surely they can get this tested recently since both regulations and water quality have changed since then and made this readily available to their customers via their website. Anyway the results they provided showed that it was tested for Cyst Removal (based on the 1988 NSF standard), Lead, Choloform and Lindane removal. Fluorine was not removed which for me was not good enough.
I returned the New Wave Environ and finally found the Berkey filter system which has an additinal fluoride filter as well. Although more expensive (about 250 inclusive of a set of flouride filters), the Berkey filters would be cheaper in the long run as they last between 3,400 gallons to 19,500 gallons depending on water quality, unlike the New Wave Filter's 1500 gallons. Furthermore I liked openness and readily accessible lab results by independent labs such as the University of Arizona, LSU and Spectrum labs (google Berkey lab results). Furthermore they are used by emergency organizations like the Redcross and Unicef.
I must add that there is no perfect system, the fluoride filters usually use an activated alumina filter media and Aluminia has been associated with Alzheimers. I was concerned about any aluminum dust residue left in the water and a little more research revealed the residue to me negligible.
Here is a comparison:
Water boiled in an Aluminium pan for 5mins had: 2.791 ppm aluminum
Colgate toothpaste: 52.878 ppm aluminum.
The Berkey flouride filter after 10 cycles had .037 ppm aluminum and after 20 Cycles: .029 ppm aluminum which in my opinion was negligible and safe.
I hope this helps you and saves you time!

As dependable as gravity. The PiMag Aqua Pour can provide you with Nikken PiMag water no matter where you are. It's a portable waterworks - producing PiMag water without electricity or plumbing. The PiMag Aqua Pour features several stages of filtration. Water flows through a carbon medium, ion exchange resin and zeolite. Pi ceramics are in the filter, to impart "the water of life." Final stage filtration consists of a bed of mineral stones, like the stones that provide natural filtering and minerals in streams and rivers. Nikken Magnetic Technology completes the process, as the water passes through a charged field surrounding the Aqua Pour tap. The PiMag Aqua Pour is the most convenient way to have a supply of PiMag water at home, in the office, while traveling - practically anywhere.

Water Filter - Multipure CBVOCSC Countertop Water Filter Review

Water Filter - Multipure CBVOCSC Countertop Water Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
(I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, since the negatives are minor.) I've had this for a couple of weeks now, and here's my experience so far:
Pluses: It was fairly easy to install, and the installation seems robust - no leakages, which was our main issue with a faucet-mount filter we had tried earlier. Looks good, I like the stainless steel better than some of the plastic casings I saw before I bought this one. The water tastes really good. I can only assume that the filter is removing the nasty stuff it claims to remove, if it is there in my tap water in the first place. The main reason I filter my tap water is to get rid of the Chlorine taste, I'm not as paranoid about tap water as some people are. I am glad to get rid of my "Pur" pitcher which I now fear has been a source of BPA all these years :-). It's nice to have on-demand filtered water instead of having to fill the pitcher and wait for the water to trickle down (since it's of course inevitable that you'll find the pitcher empty just when you have a desperate need for water, and the filter would have just started slowing down too!).
Minuses - I wish the flexible pipe was a little longer, so I could position the filter further away from the sink. As it is, it sits about a foot away from the edge of my sink so it could still get splashed. This won't affect the water of course, it just means I'll have to wipe the shiny stainless steel casing down more frequently.
It would have been nice if the attachment to the faucet was designed to be easily removed and re-attached. That way I could remove it and put it away when the cleaning lady is at work, or if I'm concerned that some visitor is going to make a mistake with the switch and run hot water through the filter. Because that's what I live in fear of - someone running hot water and destroying the filter before its time is up.
In spite of the above (minor) quibbles, I would recommend this filter to anyone who does not have the ability to install an under-sink filter. A HUGE improvement over the Brita/Pur type faucet-mount or pitcher-type filters.

We have had ours for years and am now looking at getting a whole house unit. Its the best, no kidding and we are not "sales" people, just mom and dad!

Chilled Water Instantly, How Does That Work?Water from the supply line goes into the tank and is cooled anywhere from 33 degrees to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the setting you choose on the front-mounted temperature adjustment on the tank. When the cold side valve is activated, the cold water goes from the tank and flows out of the dispenser's spout. Release the handle, and the Chilled Water Tanks' valve will close automatically, so the cold water will stop flowing.
Easy to Install! The InSinkErator Chilled Water Tank features quick-connect fittings for easy installation. It also features an adjustable temperature gauge, so you can adjust the water to your liking. Once connected to an InSinkErator cold-only dispenser or hot/cold water dispenser (sold separately) and optional Filtration System, this compact 1/3-gallon tank will give you instant access to filtered cold water--up to 1.0 gallons an hour!
An Environmentally Friendly ChoiceToday, many environmental enthusiasts say the packaging and shipping associated with bottled water that uses fossil fuels has a negative environmental impact. According to published reports, of the billions of water bottles Americans purchase each year about 80 percent end up in landfills. Unfortunately, buried water bottles can take hundreds of years to biodegrade. With an InSinkErator water dispenser and the Chilled Water Tank, the need for bottled water becomes obsolete, as it delivers ice-cold drinking water at just pennies a glass. A great alternative to bottled water--less cost and less waste.

Royal Berkey Water Filter System With 2 Black Berkey Filters Review

Royal Berkey Water Filter System With 2 Black Berkey Filters
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Not to be a buzz kill, but I spend DAYS researching these berkey filters. I even tracked down a gentleman who claimed to be one of the heads of the Toxicology Department, Dr. Portier, at LSU. He said that LSU did infact do ONE water sample on the Black Berkey over 8 YEARS ago and that neither he or LSU endorses their product. He also said that while the test did take place, that not Himself or LSU authorized a document to be placed on the internet. He said the reason that he was so quick to call me back is because he has had nearly 20 different inquires in the past 8 years asking about this "so called" lab analysis document that Berkey puts on their website. He also went on to say, that SOMEONE had to of manufactured the "LSU document" because he did not provide ANYONE with that document. So, even if LSU did do a sample, and if everything went alright, then why did New Millennium Concepts have to manufacture a LSU lab analysis report? Then I got to thinking, if New Millennium Concept (the company the main distributor for Black Berkey filters) is soooooooooooo confident in their product, then
Why don't they have any Quality Assurance procedures put into place?
Why don't they have their filters annually tested?
Why don't they get an NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certification.
Why don't they have a Micron Rating for their filter...Nominal or Absolute?
There I spoke with Valarie who was also very nice, she spend nearly 30 minutes talking to me on the phone about my questions. However, even though she was nice, she wasn't able to provide any logical explanations on why New Millennium Concepts did not provide any quality assurance testing on their filters, or why they do NOT recertify their filters annually to ensure that they are still working properly. When I pressed her on this issue, she explained that the tests were several hundred dollars apiece and that's why they did not do them frequently. Furthermore, her testament as to the quality of the Berkey Filters was that, "no one had ever gotten sick from using our Black Berkey filters". She went on to say that New Millennium Concepts has been in business since 1997 and they do a lot of business. She said that they sold over 350,000 dollars of product in December 2010 alone.
In conclusion, if New Millennium Concepts has been around as long as they say they have, and if they are selling over a quarter of a million dollars a month; then there is NO acceptable reason why they have not obtained an NSF certification, fail to conduct quality assurance on their products, or subject their filters to annual independent lab tests. These three steps would ensure the quality of their filters beyond doubt. Simply saying, "that no one has ever gotten sick using a Berkey Filter" is impossible to prove and meaningless. I have been drinking tap water for 30 years with all the fluoride, chlorine, and bacteria, and I have never gotten sick either. The problem is that unless the quality of water that you are drinking is SEVERELY contaminated, you won't get sick right away. Instead, it will be a slow cumulative effect on the body. That fact that Berkey or someone else manufactured lab analysis reports from LSU also scares me!!!
Bottom line is that the Berkey filters make some pretty awesome claims, but do very little to PROVE this to their consumers. History shows us that when a company makes great and unusual claims about their products, they NORMALLY back it up with proof; Berkey has failed to do that. As for Spectrum labs and the University of Arizona... I have yet to hear back from them.
This review is not meant to be negative in any way, it is solely to spread information and get to the bottom of this.
From what I can tell for sure, the best part about the filter is that the water collects in a 304 polished stainless steel basin, which is far superior to plastic! For this reason alone this filter might be worth buying? The Berkey filter will remove "some stuff", and in a survival situation this is definitely better than nothing. However, I am not able to use this filter for my EVERYDAY drinking water needs as several prominent Natural Health and Survival Personalities are endorsing!
If you want more info on how to contact New Millennium Concepts, or University of Arizona, or LSU toxicology department....feel free to contact me at wcoy79@yahoo.com and put "Berkey Water Filter" in subject line.
AGAIN, HERE ARE SOME "FACTS" TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING A BERKEY
1) THEY ARE NOT NSF CERTIFIED
2) THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY "RECENT" LAB TESTS ON THEIR FITLERS
3) THEY DO NOT PROVIDE A MICRON RATING FOR THEIR ELEMENTS. (YOU CAN READ WHY THEY CHOOSE NOT TO WITHIN THEIR FAQ SECTION ON THEIR WEBSITE, BUT ANYONE WHO KNOWS A GOOD DEAL ABOUT WATER FILTRATION WILL SEE RIGHT THROUGH THIS REASONING)
4) SPECTRUM LABS APPARENTLY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS SO THERE IS NO WAY TO VERIFY THEY DID TESTING FOR BERKEY
5) DR. PORTIER, THE HEAD OF LSU TOXICOLOGY DEPARTMENT BELIEVES THAT SOMEONE HAS MANUFACTURED THE LAB REPORT FROM LSU THAT IS CIRCULATING AROUND THE INTERNET. THIS IS ALSO THE SAME ONE THAT WAS EMAILED TO ME FROM VALARIE AT NEW MILLENIUM CONCEPTS (BERKEY FILTER ELEMENT MANUFACTURER)
6) I USED A POOL TEST KIT TO VERIFY THAT THE FILTERSREDUCES CHLORINE AND FOUND POSITIVE RESULTS. I AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH IT REMOVES, BUT IT DEFINITELY REMOVES SOME CHLORINE. I AM NOT SURE IF IT REMOVES CHLORAMINE THOUGH. HOWEVER, AFTER POURING REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER THROUGHT THE BERKEY FILTERS AND MEASURING THE pH BEFORE AND AFTER IT WENT THROGH THE FITLER ELEMENTS, I SAW THAT THEY pH HAD INCREASED AFTER IT WENT THROUGH THE FILTER. SINCE pH IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE AMOUNT OF PARTICLES/MINERALS CONTAINED WITHIN WATER, I REALIZED THAT THE BLACK BERKEY ELEMENTS ARE "ADDING" SOMETHING TO THE WATER. WHAT THAT IS, I AM NOT SURE, BUT I DEFINITELY DON'T LIKE THAT FACT.
7) THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THAT THESE FILTER ELEMENTS CAN BE USED FOR AN INDEFINITE AMOUNT OF TIME SO LONG AS THE FILTER'S GALLON RATING HAS NOT BEEN REACHED. WHILE I CANNOT PROVE THIS, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THESE ELEMENTS ARE NOT MADE OF CERAMIC AND THAT THEY ARE MADE OF SOME FORM OF ACTIVATED CARBON. CARBON BECMOES A BREEDING GROUND FOR BACTERIA AND VIRUSES IN WET ENVIORNMENTS AFTER AROUND 5-6 MONTHS. FOR THIS REASON ALONE, ALL OTHER CARBON BASED FILTER ELEMENTS RECOMMEND THAT YOU SWITCH OUT YOUR FILTERS AFTER 6 MONTHS EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT REACHED THAT FILTERS RATED GALLON CAPACITY. THE FACT THE VALARIE FROM NEW MILLENIUM CONCEPTS SAID THAT YOU CAN KEEP THE FITLER FOREVER SO LONG AS YOU DRY IT OUT WHEN NOT USING IT, SOUNDS A BIT FISHY TO ME.
8) THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT IS THAT WHILE ALL THE ABOVE FACTS ARE TRUE, THE MANUFACTURER AND ALL THE DISTRIBUTORS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OVER THE PHONE AND VIA EMAIL REFUSE TO Acknowledge THEM AS TRUTH. THIS WORRIES ME BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THEY ARE TYRING TO HIDE SOMETHING. INSTEAD, THEY JUST PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH FACTS THEY WANT TO ATTACK AND REFUSE TO GIVE LOGICAL EXPLANATIONS REGARDING THE OTHERS STATEMENTS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE PUREEST WATER YOU CAN GET, TRY DISTILLING YOUR WATER (I KNOW, I KNOW, I AM OBSESSED WITH WATER). BUT IF YOU ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO PURIFY WATER IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS OR IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES THAT DON'T HAVE FILTRATION METHODS, THEN THE BERKEY OR SOME OTHER GRAVITY FED SYSTEM WILL WORK FOR YOU.
9) THE FLUORIDE ELEMENTS THAT BERKEY SELLS ARE FROM A THIRD PARTY MANUFACTURER AND HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN TO REMOVE ANY SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF FLUORIDE. DISTILLING IS THE ONLY FOR SURE METHOD TO REMOVE FLUORIDE FROM WHAT I CAN GATHER.BOTTOM LINE, THESE FILTERS ARE PROBABLY GOOD FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ONLY. I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT THEY WILL REMOVE ANYTHING THAT THE CITY WATER HASN'T ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF, WHICH THE EXCEPTION OF CHLORINE.****UPDATE***** MARCH 13TH 2011
please forgive the ALL CAPS, I don't feel like retyping this ;(
I WAS ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH DR. GERBA FROM UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA VIA EMAIL. HE CONFIRMED THAT THEY DID ONE TEST AS WELL WHICH CONFIRMED THE FOLLOWING "Three Black Berkey Filter Formulation Water Purification Units were evaluated for their ability to remove Cryptosporidium parvum (C. parvum) oocysts, and Escherichia coli (E. coli). The average oocysts removal by both units tested exceeded >99.99999"
SO, THAT MAKES 2 ACCOUNTED FOR LAB ANALYSIS REPORTS(LSU & UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA) WITH ONLY ONE OUTSTANDING (SPECTRUM LABS). KNOWING THIS MAKES ME FEEL BETTER ABOUT OWNING A BERKEY....I SUPPOSE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE LAB ANALYSIS WAS DONE BY SPECTRUM LABS. I SAY THIS IS UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE AFTER SPEAKING WITH A BERKEY DISTRIBUTOR VIA EMAIL, HE INFORMED ME THAT THE PARTICULAR SPECTRUM LAB THAT DID THE WATER ANALYSIS ON THEIR FILTERS WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. I DO NOT HOLD THIS AGAINST NEW MILLENNIUM CONCEPTS OR THEIR FILTERS, UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES HAPPEN SO I UNDERSTAND. HOWEVER, SINCE THIS PARTICULAR SPECTRUM LABS WENT OUT OF BUSINESS THEIR WATER ANALYSIS CANNOT BE SUBSTANTIATED. LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER, THEIRS WAS THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE OF THE THREE.
AS FAR AS THINGS STAND RIGHT NOW, I AM STILL RECOMMENDING THE BERKEY FILTER FOR LAST DITCH EFFORTS IN AN EMERGENCY. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE CONVENIENCE OF THEIR "GRAVITY FED" SYSTEM COMES IN HANDY WHEN THE ELECTRICITY GOES OUT, NOT TO MENTION THEIR HIGH QUALITY 403 STAINLESS STEEL OUTER HOUSING; BUT I STILL NEED TO SEE MORE RECENT AND UP TO DATE TESTING ALONG WITH SOME QUALITY ASSURANCE ON THEIR END TO ENSURE THAT EACH FILTER MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS THAT THEY CLAIM. COME ON PEOPLE, THIS IS JUST COMMON SENSE STUFF HERE. I AM NOT PENALIZING BERKEY FILTERS FOR CHOOSING NOT TO PURCHASE THE NSF...Read more›

If you listen to InSinkErator you will end up purchasing a new unit if not under warranty. The unit is easily fixed see below my instructions. I did pass this on to thier Customer Service hopefully they will review it and publish the instructions for everyone. It takes no parts just minor disassembling and cleaning.
You can easily repair the faucet handle sticking problem from the top.
1.) turn off water - actually you could leave on
2.) using a 3/4 inch open end wrench to remove small retaining cap holding handles in faucet. If you look close you will notice flat sections on cap. Be carefull not to mar finish.
3.) Then pop off handle pivot cap with a small flat screwdriver exposing the stuck plunger. There is hex cap that hold plunger assembly in but you would need a very thin wall socket to remove entire plunger assembly.
4.) Clean as much green goo from plunger area with paper towels and a tooth-pic.
5.) Fill with WD40 cover entire plunger leave soaking over night. (don't use solvents!)
6.) This should loosen remaing debris. Also work plunger up and down, a 1/4 inch extension works good for this.
7. ) reassemble and you should be as good as new.
In-Sink-Erator only wants to sell a new faucet they don't offer and rebuild kit even though the faucet can be repair from top without removing from sink. My faucet works like new after I was done I added vasoline over plunger area hopefully to keep debris out.
Good Luck

Zuvo ZPS130 Water Purator V3.0, White/Stainless Steel Finish Review

Zuvo ZPS130 Water Purator V3.0, White/Stainless Steel Finish
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Rest assured ZuvoWater Company's idea of "customer service" and "quality products" are mere SCARE TACTICS and ones they will only employ after staff meetings, committee meetings, board meetings, my-people-will-tell-people, I'll-call-you-right-back (in the next life), email-tag and hair pulling on the customer's part. They will only use it as a last resort, maybe...
After receiving a defective unit (UV failed to initiate), it took almost 2 weeks of waiting for someone from ZuvoWater to connect with me via telephone. Their website does not offer email contact - they must email you first. Nothing about ZuvoWater is user-friendly.
1) Upon contact be prepared to play "hot potato" and the "Customer-is-Stupid-Troubleshooting" for AN ALREADY KNOWN PROBLEM, which was eventually described to me as a manufacturing defect - the prongs on the plug-in are not long enough to receive proper electrical current to activate the UV process. Okay, sure.
2) They will not make returning the unit for a replacement easy, it may take MANY days to receive authorization. Be prepared that this may not happen at all.
3) Be prepared to bear all costs if you receive a defective product, including shipping costs; you may not be successful in getting Zuvo to bear the responsibility.
After 2 weeks of resolve-weakening tactics, I caved. I contacted Amazon and without missing a beat they issued my return/refund, the matter was resolved within 48 hours, and I was minus a defective product.
After this was all over and done with Zuvo emailed me an apology and an offer of a new product. Sad to say the whole situation had gone beyond the time and endurance I was prepared to waste on this company. Unfortunate too because I really had positive expectations for this product and would have like to have invested in several for family members. Other reviews of Zuvo 2.0 & 2.5 reveal this is not an isolated incident.
If you receive a unit that works and/or the company responds timely and reasonably to any requests you make, you will probably be very pleased with this filtration system. I wish I was...

Using Zuvo's breakthrough "puration" process, the Zuvo ZPS130 Water Purator gives you fresh, clean, better-tasting water right from your tap. More affordable than water filtration pitchers and more environmentally friendly than bottled water, this easy-to-use filter follows a patented, five-step puration process that transforms what flows from a standard tap into healthy, safe-to-drink water.
Quick, Easy InstallationIn a matter of minutes, the Zuvo Water Purator can be installed on a traditional kitchen faucet, or if you have a non-standard or pull-out faucet, the Purator can be connected to under-the-counter plumbing with a Butler Faucet Kit (sold separately). Installing the Purator is straight forward and can be completed without the need for plumbing tools.

Better for Your HealthThe Zuvo 'puration' process reduces contaminants from tap water sources. The process filters impurities gained on the journey from your water treatment plant or well through the pipes in your house to the tap in your kitchen--while preserving the water's natural and healthy mineral content.

The Zuvo Water Purator mimics nature's water cleansing process by exposing tap water to ultraviolet light and ozone, effectively reducing water-borne bacteria and microbes, trapping particles and dissolved solids in a carbon filter, and exposing the filtered water to a final ultraviolet pass before it leaves the unit.

When the unit is on, you can see the process working. The patented puration process oxygenates the water while reducing bad taste and potentially unhealthy contaminants. The Zuvo Water Purator reduces 99 percent of lead, and 99.9 percent of cysts. It also offers a 99 percent reduction of chlorine taste and odor.

Better for Your Wallet and Better for the PlanetOver time, Zuvo costs a fraction of what you'd spend on bottled water or pitcher filters, and with Zuvo you can make a difference by not adding to the more than 60 million plastic bottles that end up in landfills every year.

Once the Zuvo Purator is installed, you'll get healthy water for as little as $.06/gallon versus as much as $.20/gallon for pitcher water and over $1.00/gallon for bottled water. (These savings assume two years of ownership based on 1,000 gallons/year water consumption).

The Zuvo Water Purator offers a filter life of 500 gallons (1,900 liters) or six months depending on use. The Purator also offers an ultraviolet lamp life of 10,000 on/off cycles or three years depending on use. The Zuvo Water Purator measures 4.75 x 4.5 x 16.0 inches and weighs just 1.9 pounds. The unit is designed to work with water temperatures ranging from 4 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (4 to 38 degrees Celsius).

This Zuvo Water Purator is backed by a comprehensive one-year warranty, and it comes with a free filter--providing 1,000 gallons of fresh Zuvo water.

What's in the BoxActivated carbon filter (installed), adapter/diverter for standard faucets, and owner's manual.
