(More customer reviews)I don't feel that this fan draws as much air as some 110 CFM fans I've seen in action, but it does a pretty good job. The 4.0 sones are fine, in my opinion. It is not whisper quiet (not supposed to be), but it's not nearly as loud as our old fan either. It is a perfectly acceptable noise level for us.
Side note: Make sure you are using this with 4-inch duct or bigger. A friend bought this fan thinking they could attach it to their existing 3-inch ducts and it was crazy loud and barely drew any air. They changed out the ducts to the right size and now it is fine.
