(More customer reviews)This is in Amazon twice, so I'm reviewing twice. Bought for specs - reasonably met cooling expectations given the conditions in which I use it. Heating was abysmal. Just after warranty expiration the exhaust squirrel cage fan blades disentigrated. Called Soleus to buy a new part. Once thru phonemail hell, the obviously new customer service person, although trying to help, finally found out Soleus no longer sells parts. But, for $45/hr they'll troubleshoot and fix it. Just bring it in. They're in El Monte - I'm not. I believe the cheap plastic fan case warped allowing contact with the blades. Lousy customer support. Because this is manufactured in China I cannot find a replacement unit thru normal channels. So I bought a New Air AC1600H based upon many reviews. Not here yet. Stand by.

Delonghi know they are selling a defective product. When you call customer service there is a promt for Penguinuo air conditioners!
They refuse to do anything about replacing this unit at no cost to me.

SPT WA-1230E 12,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this AC unit during the excess heat wave this summer. The unit, (once properly vented) works really well for cooling my bed room but it shuts off when the water needs drained. Durning these hot temperatures this is after only 2-2.5 hrs. Draining the water is not an easy task because the drain is only 1 inch from the floor so you can only use a really really shallow dish. It does come with a hose to connect to a drain for continous drainage but the drain must be below or at the same level as the AC unit.
This drainage problem makes the unit NOT useful for long term cooling (you can't run it all night or use it to cool while at work)
As a long term solution I am working on buidling a stand to set the unit on for continous drainage into a bucket but it is heavey and vibration makes noise a problem. Other portable AC unit have a collecting bottle which is easy to revome for drainage.

I looked everywhere from Costco to Wine Stores trying to find a perfect wine cooler before a friend suggested Amazon. That's where I came across the NewAir AW320ED. This is a VERY nice unit! I previously purchased the Cuisinart before this one, but sent ended up returning it since it was so loud. I bought this one, and I couldn't be happier. It has a lot of great features that the Cuisinart did not and, in my opinion, looks nicer.
First, its very quiet compared to the Cuisinart. It has dual zones so I can store my growing collection of both red and white wines. I love that it doesn't make more noise as my refrigerator. It also has screw-in feet that can be used to level it. This was particularly helpful with the textured travertine floor in my kitchen. Although, it's not a big deal unless your floors are not quite level like mine.It has a nice LED light on the interior that is much brighter than the Cuisinart light. It cast a nice blue ray so I can easily find my wine for the night. I really like the touch screen controls as well. The temperature ranges are easily controlled with a touch of a button. It was also super easy to setup.
The unit even included a one year warranty, which help make my decision to purchase the unit. So far it has been about 5 months since I've had the cooler, and my wife and I are really pleased.
For about the same price as the Cuisinart, this is a much better unit. Buy it!

EdgeStar 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner and Heater Review

(More customer reviews)SO this unit works very well if no hotter than 82 degrees outside. If its hotter than 82 degrees the unit will only spit out 63 degree air. Which cools a little bit but does not make the cold by any means. I'm lucky if I can hold 73 degrees average room temp with another fan blowing. I have a instant read thermometer I used to test the unit. I have had it for about 2 months now. My office is about 210sq ft and in a basement (no direct sunlight). They advertise that this is a 12k BTU unit (its not) and that it can cool up to a 425sq ft room. It can't.
In dehumidifier basically dose not work until you install a condensation pump. The unit is advertised as "exhausts most or all condensate automatically except under extreme humidity situations" This is the case when the A/C is on but not the dehumidifier. I don't have a damp or wet basement by any means, however while in dehumidifier mode the condensation just does not exhaust like in A/C mode. Without the condensation pump, the unit will shut off after about an hour because "internal reservoir" is full. The reservoir holds about 20 ounces, and you need to go to the back of the unit to drain it. This is messy to do, due to the drain being right at floor level.
The unit itself was cheap compared to brand name, I paid $380 with free shipping. However now today was an exceptionally hot day and my unit isn't really cooling, i would have rather spend the extra $300 and purchased a brand name unit that works the way a typically AC would.

This product works perfectly even though the room is much larger than 250sq ft.This portable AC only costs 50 cents a day to run, considerably less than running the central air. It's quieter than I expected and the air is very cold. The only thing I don't like is the instruction manual - just not enough info.The exhaust hose must be mounted properly to the outside through a window. All portable AC units create a vacuum in the room and if the exhaust hose is not practically air tight, more warm air from outside will come in than cold air blowing out. I have had it for a week now and it has yet to need the water reservoir emptied.
