I build just about everything with this machine, because of its low angle pocket I am able to use it for a wide variety of applications. This machine is not just for the cabinet industry it can be used in most industries across the board. Commercial, nonresidential, eductional construction, hospitality, and the health care industry. With the downswing in the housing market, I am beginning to shift my production to the commercial sector and Im ready to purchase Castle's high end production machine. Anyone who see's the end of the housing market coming should really consider getting a Castle pocket cutter and start doing some commercial work.

The only complaint i have is that the clamp doesn't hold the wood down as securely as i would like. i understand that the new electric model has a very secure hold on the wood. if you have an option between the two, i would go electric.

The Kreg Foreman 3/4-Horsepower Semi-Automatic Pneumatic Pocket Hole Machine features a pneumatic drill motor and an automatically adjusting air clamping cylinder. To operate, simply position your material to be drilled and pull the lever forward. This motion supplies air to the clamping cylinder that automatically adjusts to your material thickness as well as activates the 3/4-horsepower drill motor. Finish the drill stroke by continuing to pull on the lever and then return the lever to the home position to cut the air supply. The machine operates at 90-120 PSI , needs a minimum compressor capacity of 5.3 CFM at 90 PSI , and can accommodate a 1/2-inch-to-1-1/2-inch material capacity. This model features new improvements over the DB50 model that include the addition of an oiler, top catch release, and the fence can now be adjusted from the top instead of under the machine. The machine comes backed with a 30-day manufacturer's limited warranty.

(More customer reviews)As my woodworking skills improve over time, I periodically upgrade my equipment. I recently purchased an eight inch, 24 tooth dado blade set from CMT. There is no comparison between my previous, less expensive set and the CMT. The CMT set cuts flat bottom dadoes and can be precisely set between 1/4 inch and 13/16 inch. The shim set that is included allows for accurate width dimensions. The old adage that "you get what you pay for" applies here but in this case it is a positive. Great equipment at a great price.
