(More customer reviews)I ordered the Flotec unit through Amazon but supplied by Northern Tool and received the Simer equivalent. I called Northern Tool and they said they don't carry the Flotec and it was a mix up with Amazon and themselves. Northern Tool offered to take it back, but I kept the Simer unit since I wanted to get the install done and they offered to refund the shipping ($23.xx). The Simer unit has been installed for about 3 weeks now and works great. I installed a large filter before the unit and 3 smaller filters after the unit with a pressure gauge after the 3 filters. Without the unit plugged in, the well pump cycled between 22 and 42 PSI. I plugged in the unit and now the pressure reaches about 68-70 PSI. There is a delay before the unit kicks in, sometimes longer than others, but it always kicks in. I wish I had installed one of these 3 years ago when I moved into this house. Side note. It has 1 inch inlet and outlet ports and I had 3/4" piping, so I bumped up the piping to 1" before the first filter(which was 1" anyways) so it has a few feet of 1" piping before the pump. This was to prevent cavitation that the instructions said might happen if smaller piping was used. I would recommend this unit though the Simer can be found for cheaper than the Flotec. I knew the Flotec name and had done research on pricing and reviews. Amazon has a seller selling the Simer for cheaper than the Northern Tool's "Flotec"/Simer, so if you want Flotec brand like I did, don't buy from Northern, and if you don't mind a Simer, buy from the other seller on Amazon. Update: Amazon refunded my purchase price of 339.99 after I told them of bait and switch and now Northern Tool has sent it to a collection agency. Beware of Northern Tool!! Better Business Bureau, here I come!!

(More customer reviews)My plumber installed a Grundfos comfort system ( pipe and valve) for a guest bath, meaning I had hoped to use the timer on the pump and not have the pump on 24hours a day 7 days a week, but rather on only when I had guests and other wise the pump would be would be off. Turns out my situation is not a good fit for this system's characteristics. Using it the way I hoped to I have ALOT of hot water in the cold supply when the pump is off. When the warm supply is cool to cold the Comfort Valve is Wide open (ie a gallon or so a minute flow) and puts way too much hot water in the cold water supply, for the faucet where it is installed and critically other nearby faucets, which suffer from back flow as well . So now rather than wait for the hot water supply to deliver warm water .We have to wait for the cold water supply to supply cold on nearby faucets. The product reference material from GRUNDFOS doesn't point this out, if it had I would have done something different. My Plumber and I both spoke to Grunfos tech support on this one. THUMBS DOWN to Grundfos for not identifying situations where this system is not a fit.

(More customer reviews)So that any prospective buyers do not make the same mistake I made - the picture of the DuroMax shows the water pump with some cheesy fittings that come as accesories. What you need to know and the description and picture do not tell you is that both the pump inlet and outlet are 2" male threads. Also, the manual says the motor takes .6 liter of "SE 15-40" oil but the sticker on the pump says "30wt" AND it only holds about .4 liters. I have yet to use the pump as I bought the fittings to mate up with my cam-lock snowmaker hoses and I bought male threads instead of female. I'll update after using it and add or subtract stars accordingly.

(More customer reviews)Very disapointed. This item had burst through the packaging in several places. The pressure tank was bent at the coupling and paint had chipped off. The packaging itself had paper tape on it at several of the burst through areas and had an old UPS label indicating to me that this product had been returned previously. Further, the internal packaging had not been repackaged properly. I never got to test the product itself. On the good side Amazon sent a call tag quite quickly and accepted the return with no hassle. First time that I have had a bad experience with Amazon.
