(More customer reviews)I was committed to purchasing an electric lawnmower. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options and even fewer reviews so was hard to decide! Ultimately went with the neuton and have been very happy. It is extremely light and easy to maneuver and turn which is great b/c we have a couple of hills and narrow spaces on our lawn. I was worried b/c it is more narrow than some mowers (maybe 14"?) but that hasn't been a problem at all; in fact, it makes many parts of the yard easier to mow. Charges quickly and we haven't had any battery problems. Never ran out of charge on our small lawn (takes about 45"). It is quiet (not noiseless, but I can cut early in the morning without waking the neighbors) and cuts well. I'm thrilled not to have a cord, and it is easy to start and stop. Haven't used the mulcher or any other fancy accessories (the local sales guy said not to bother with buying those).

I would buy this again without hesitation and would recommend to others. I didn't give it 5 stars only b/c there are so few cordless electric mowers to choose from in 2005 that I can't imagine this is yet the model of perfection, but for the average small lawn owner (like me), it's a great machine.
Addendum 7/2006: now in our second season and no complaints. We love this machine; it was a great purchase for us.
Addendum 9/2007: third season, great machine. Now that I've seen its durability, I would give this product 5 starts (Amazon won't let me change my original rating).
Addendum 6/2009: fifth season, still totally satisfied with this machine. Blade became "unbalanced" and needed repair in year 4. Battery still going strong (we keep it plugged in all year).

(More customer reviews)Four years ago I had a hand crushing injury at work. I'm a manager of a garage door shop and I have to use an impact everyday. My hand would hurt after a long day of using my old makita or dewalt impact. I was so happy when this item was released. It is so much lighter then any of my old impacts. It also does the job. I use it so much daily that I go through 3 batteries a day. I'm not trying to say that the batteries don't have a long life, it is just that I actually use the impact 6-7 hours a day. After 364 days, the impact started to die, the brushes and motor were shot. I was very surprised, I brought the impact to a makita authorized service center and even though it was "very used" for 364 days, they fixed it in less then 24 hours. For one day I had to go back to using my old heavy impact. It was horrible day. I would not live without this impact. I even bought a second one as a back up. Even though the price is higher then some of the other impacts out there (my wife grumbled a little about the cost)I would absolutely recommend this over any other impact on the market!

We've come a long way from sweat and a screwdriver. A hundred years ago, builders would never have envisioned a tool as powerful and efficient as this one. Heck, even 20 years ago. Science has ushered battery technology along, and the LXT Lithium-Ion system that powers this impact driver has a ton of advantages over standard NiMH or NiCad batteries. (More customer reviews)I bought this drill about two years ago in a combo pack. I have used large spade bits through thick stock and the drill doesn't even flinch. In fact, I think this thing would twist my hand off before it gave! Warning, use the clutch on delicate items! The only drawbacks are the drill is larger and heavier that other 18 volts I've tried and replacement batteries are big bucks. I guess its the price of all that power. I have also used the hammer setting when going into concrete. Works as well as a corded drill. Battery life seems good, you can make a lot of holes and drive a lot of screws on one charge. The chuck is solid but will slip like any other keyless if you don't snug it down. I have worked this drill very hard over the past two years and while I have given it cosmetic scars it shows no signs of giving out anytime soon. Go to a store, pick-up and feel all the 18 volt drills. The Milwaukee just feels much more solid than all the rest. You will not regret this purchase!

"Powerful", is an understatement.They're sooo smooth!( Love those ball bearings )I have had two now for 4 months.They are a direct replacement for 2 18v yellow drills that weren't holding up. I can't dog DeWalt, because they make too many good products. The new makita's are the most durable drills I have ever seen. I've had 35 from all the major manufacturers in the past 5 years.They are kind of heavy to use all day long .However they are lighter than the DeWalt and Milwaukee 18v drills.The new 24v drills are way too heavy for extended use.

Bosch 13618 18 Volt Brute Tough Hammerdrill Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned one of these for about 2.5 years and so far no serious complaints as this has been a consistently reliable tool. It has more than justified its high price with its solid performance--for most small masonry applications this drill has proven itself more than adequate. I have been in situations where I have had to really abuse this tool--drilling 1/2" holes in aged cement and while this tool couldn't keep up like a corded it still hasn't died. Oh, and these 18v batteries will work in my 24v Bosch tools, but their 24v batteries will not work in this 18v drill.
The batteries leave something to be desired and the weight still feels excessive to me for 18v--I purchased the 18v instead of an 24v SDS because I don't have masonry applications that often and would like a full-size drill that could handle the infrequent times when I would have to drill brick or concrete, but still be light enough for general use. That said, I have the 24v jigsaw and circular saw from Bosch, and I'm not sure that it wouldn't have been a better idea for me to get the 24v hammerdrill for battery interchangeability. The 18v is still pretty heavy--the carabiner clip on the bottom of the drill's handle seems like a great idea until you actually try to use it and then find it pulling your pants down around your ankles. The drill feels solid and well-made--although on mine the clutch's inked on numbers as well as the BOSCH name painted in red on the side of the motor have basically scratched off entirely. The included side handle is nice and the case is surprisingly decent.
I'm generally happy with this purchase, but I'm not sure it is necessarily the best option out there. I have a Metabo 15.6v I like more for general use and for serious hammerdrills I wish I had probably went either with the 24v Bosch SDS or the comparable Hilti 24v, or even the 19.2v P/C's. If I was doing a lot of masonry drilling inevitably I would have to go with a corded anyway.

DEWALT DW056K-2 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Impact Driver Review

(More customer reviews)We use this driver for running in ½ x 12 lag bolts through pilings. This putts a lot of stress on a driver. The DeWalt has more then enough power to handle this and all lesser tasks. I have used several hammer drivers and hammer drills in my business, this is truly the undisputed "Power King"; however, after running hundreds of lags and screws I encountered a few shortcomings with the DeWalt:\
1.On two of these drivers the anvil (hammer thingy) inside stripped out in less then 3 months. On the plus side, DeWalt replaced them, no questions asked.
2.It a nightmare to get inside and replace the brushes on the work site. Combine that with the reluctance of our rep. to even get the brushes addes up to sending them in for R&R (repair and rebuild) at the cyclic rate. Time = money. I still don't know if the brushes can be replaced, how to do it, or if that is even the problem. I suspect it is due to a small amount of graphite looking dust around the air exhaust vents after long use.
All in all, not bad for hundreds of BIG lags, but to put it into perspective, we also use Makita 24 volt hammer drivers. These have run thousands of big lags with no problems at all! The Makita brushes are a few bucks for a pack and can be replaced in a minute.
My bottom line is: Get the DeWalt for lower production work that needs lots of power, but if you have your driver turning day on stay on, you might want to consider a Makita hammer driver in the 18 - 24 volt range.

Of course you're not going to be running large self feed bits with it. That's why they make the big bad RA drills. This is perfect for tight spots and awkward situations though . It will drive any screw you need it to and works great for tight quarters drilling. Even though it's not the largest cordless , it is the most dependable on the market.

(More customer reviews)I have purchased more tools than I can remember from Amazon, and have never been compelled to waste my time writing a review. However, this tool deserves a good review. I am no stranger to Panasonic drills. I have owned both the 12v and the 15.6v NiMh drills for several years, and use them daily in my cabinet shop. Both of these drills are far superior to any of the competition that I have owned (Bosch, Makita, and especially DeWalt XPR). I needed another drill, so naturally I opted to purchase a Panasonic. What I ended up with was the perfect combination of both drills. The great things about the Panasonic EY7440 include the following.
Extremely light weight
Almost as much power as the 15.6v NiMh (Good for forstner bits)
Ten hours of fairly extensive use per battery charge
Small enough to fit in tight spots
Quick battery charge (irrelevant because you won't be able to run down
the battery before the spare is charged)
The best variable speed trigger on the market Only one complaint. The handle is too small for anyone with large hands. The diameter of the grip is fine, but the distance from the trigger to the battery housing is too short. Not as comfortable as its older models are.

(More customer reviews)I liked the corded 11a orbital Sawzall so much I went out and bought the cordless Hatchet as well. It has proved to be a quality , useful, and very handy tool. The 18v Hatchet also has orbital action which increases it's usefulness, and it is lighter than the corded one. However, if you have major demo work to do, grab the corded Sawzall. The corded Sawzall can't be beat for big, difficult jobs, but this is the one to take when you have a few cuts to make or need to get into a tight space. The battery run time is actually quite good, but it you are in an attic or crawl space, you might want to take a spare battery just to make sure. It can be used one-handed, and the folding handle makes the saw very versatile. I actually find that I use it as much or more than the corded Sawzall, but I wouldn't want to be without the corded one either. Overall, I have been very happy with this quality tool.

(More customer reviews)A little background - I have virtually all the 18v tools that DeWalt has made, including two 18v hammer drills. I have built numerous houses with their tools, and done countless remodeling projects. You could say I'm a fan!
That said, the 36v hammer drill really hasn't impressed me. It is huge, so it doesn't fit in some spaces where the 18v will fit, and the power doesn't seem to be that much better. On the rare occasion that I need something more powerful than the 18v drill, I'm probably reaching for my Milwaukee wrist-wreaker (corded) or a 2" roto-hammer.
I really like the 36v line, and am impressed by the circular saw and recip saw. This drill just seems like a tool without a need. It rarely leaves my shop to go on a job, and I never use it at home either. It was part of a combo promotional kit, so I can't complain about the price, but I don't think I'd buy it outright.

I asked around and read the reviews on your web site. I went to LOWE's and Home Depot to get a closer look at all of the various guns. I decided to try the Paslode Impulse, so I bought one for each of us. I saved... on both by getting them from Amazon. These things are great. I even dropped one twice, once about 6' on a sidewalk. Never missed a beat. They are practically maintence free. Even though they didn't need it I cleaned them once just to make me feel good. The breakdown and cleaning was a snap. They sure made the job go faster and saved a lot of wear and tear on our arms. Not having air hoses laying all around was a big plus. I strongly recommend the Paslode Impulse. I even used the generic nails with no problems.

(More customer reviews)I've used Milwaukee's 18v drill for years (I own two of them) and they've never failed me. By far, the best cordless drill available... until now. When Milwaukee came out with their V28 line, I was intrigued, but I didn't need a new drill. Besides, the 18v drill I had worked fine, I didn't think it was necessary to upgrade (especially for the price). When it came time to buying a hammer drill, I looked again at the V28 hammer-drill and decided to buy one, figuring it would at least allow me to combine two tools into one and save the room in my car. I ended up getting a LOT more then I expected.
First, the belt clip is amazing. I didn't think twice about it when I read the drill's description, since I have a holster that works fine. The holster's now in the garbage as the belt clip is absolutely ingenious. Now I can easy attach the drill to my belt without looking and it's fully secure. With one hand I can push down on the latch and detach the drill for use... a marvelous idea. Best thing about it is I can also use it with my V28 flashlight when I need to.
Another thing I really like about this new drill is the bit holder... I always liked the idea of DeWalt's drill's holding the single bits, but Milwaukee provides a place for two. However, the only downside to this is if you use the drill in the hammer-drill setting, the bits tend to slide out after prolonged use.
Then there's the power... one of my first uses was drilling a 1" hole at an angle through two old 1x10 joists and a 2x4 in order to run a wire. I've done it several times with my old 18v, but I always end up having to reverse back a bit then start again to get a bit of momentum. If I can, I normally leave the job up to a corded drill to make things nice a quick. Not anymore... the V28 ripped right through the wood without the slightest problem. The power difference between the 18v and the V28 is shocking... you'd think you were using a corded drill.
The hammer-drill function was another big plus for me... I used this drill side by side with another corded Milwaukee hammer drill to drill numerous holes into a concrete foundation. The cordless worked just as well as the corded... no difference at all, except I wasn't lugging around a cord.
Lastly, there's the longevity of the charges... usually I'll go through at least one full battery and charge it on the site. Again, not anymore. I rarely need to use the second battery during a single day.
If I could, I'd give it six-stars. This thing is just incredible.

Milwaukee 0928-29 28-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this tool kit at least once a week for the past 2 months or so and I can definitely say that they perform as expected. I'm not sure that the lower weight or extended run time is really the best reason to upgrade from your current cordless tools given the price of this kit. However I didn't own any other cordless tools, so purchasing this slightly more expensive set was worth the money. The sawzall and drill are definitely the two tools that I use the most and they have held up wonderfully. The drill (set to hammer) eats through concrete surprisingly fast.
I would have given this set 5 stars, except for the following:
1. The batteries are much more expensive than other sets (a reason contractors may be wary of upgrading their existing job tools to these)
2. The flashlight isn't all that bright, especially compared to LED lights that are out now. It's also bulky with the battery and lacks a "lantern" ability to illuminate 360?.
3. The kit comes with one screwdriver tip, but holds two. Why not just throw in an extra $2 tip?
4. The current selection of 28V tools is not very large, so if you are looking for a variety of tools that use interchangable batteries, this may not be the kit for you.
The things I like about the set:
1. You get three high quality tools (sawzall, circular saw, drill), a charger, two batteries and a tool bag to carry them all in. In addition you get the clip lock system and the flashlight, a circular saw blade, 2 sawzall blades and a screwdriver bit.
2. The battery life is exceptional.
3. The power actually lasts as Milwaukee claims, high power through the whole battery right until the end.
4. The batteries are definitely lighter and easier to use for extended periods of time.

This thing is powerful and the batteries seem to stay charged forever. It's heavier than some cordless drills, but then it's so much more powerful. It has a metal chuck ( not plastic like the competition ) and the chuck jaws are carbide which helps grip the bit. I like it so much I bought a second drill body only to compliment the kit. I was never a fan of cordless tools, but Milwaukee has changed all that.

I can't compare the cutting speed of this saw compared to a saw that runs at 3000 or more but wouldn't this be related to the type of blade you install?
With a 10 year warranty wouldn' t this saw make a good professional saw? Does anyone know if it would be covered if used by a professional?
I will try to update this after I try it out but would be interested in hearing others experience with it.
