DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence Review

DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence

Like most others, I have spent a lot of time reading as many reviews about the different fences that are available and was having a tuff time deciding. I was torn between the Vega pro 50 and the Biesemeyer comercial 30 in. I guess what convinced me was the outright mass of the rails compared to the vega. I just wasnt convinced that the vegas rails were able to support an extension table as well as the Biesemeyer. After ordering and receiving the system, I jumped into installing it as soon as possible. Having an older Sears Contractors saw and trying to make the universal rail guides match was a bit difficult as the bolt holes didnt want to line up. So, I ended up moving the rail to the right and ended up with 39 inches of compacity. Not too bad since the system came with table extension legs. The real difficulty came when attaching the rear rail support. I had to put some really large notches in the rail to allow the blade to tilt to a full 45 degrees. Now, with the fence installed, I have to say that I am very glad that I went with the comercial fence. I couldnt be happier with it. The difference is remarkable over the oem fence. This fence does cost more but it is worth the difference if price for the quality that you get. I cannot knock the Vega since I didnt purchase it, but if you are leaning towards that Beisemeyer you wont be sorry.

Biesemeyer 78-955 T-Square Table Saw BladeGuard System for Fences Less Than 40-Inch Long Review

Biesemeyer 78-955 T-Square Table Saw BladeGuard System for Fences Less Than 40-Inch Long

I have to admit that I was hesitant to buy a safety feature for my Delta contractor's saw, but I'm glad I did. The blade guard system is actually comprised of the actual blade guard and a splitter. The blade guard is mounted to the rear support of the existing fence by 6 hex bolts. Drilling and mounting the fence took about 15 minutes. The splitter replaces the existing one, and is an enormous improvement. First, no bracket mounting it to the rear of the saw, which makes attaching an outfeed table easier since you don't have to cut a large slot for the bracket. Second, it is attached to the saw by one large spring-loaded knob, which means you can install or remove it in about 10 seconds without fumbling with a wrench. The fence guard is large and clear, and makes it easy to see what you are cutting, and the best part is that you can cut dadoes with the guard in place. And when you don't want it in place, you just flip it out of the way. For those who like to have their router mounted in their right extension table, this would probably not be a wise investment,as it would definitely be in the way. However, for everyone else, this safety feature is well worth the money.

DELTA 36-865 Versa-Feeder 1/8 Horsepower 10 to 46 Feet Per Minute Variable Speed Stock Feeder, 115-Volt 1 Phase Review

The Delta Versa-feeder was easy to assemble. The only problem encountered was that the overarm end was slightly mushroomed and required light filing to attach to the pivot ball. This appeared to be a shipping problem which could easily be corrected with Delta placing a protective cap on the ends.I have run 4' long 7/8" oak through the Versa-Feeder on a Delta Unisaw and it performed well. It made easy work of a tedious and some-what dangerous job. I am also going to use it on a Walker-Turner 3/4" shaper where it will usually be mounted. The drawback to the Versa-Feeder I feel would be in it's pivot ball and overarm design. It makes it harder to fine tune the Versa-Feeder to the stock and machine it is mounted on. But at better than 1/2 the price of Delta's 1/4 hp model the value is in the savings. I feel with more practice it will become easier for me to set up.

DELTA 34-976 Deluxe Uniguard Table Saw Blade Guard Review

DELTA 34-976 Deluxe Uniguard Table Saw Blade Guard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a woodworking beginner, I'm very focused on safety. I've read dozens of posts about fingers being severed on table saws. These accidents, it seems, are usually due to removed blade guards.
The uniguard is a blade guard you won't remove. The two split halves rotate back independently, so you can still guard the blade when cutting very thin pieces. And the guard hangs from above and rests on the work, so you can use it when performing non-through cuts.
The splitter that comes with the uniguard is its second great feature. It is easily removed for non-through cuts, and more to the point, easily replaced afterwards. The splitter is separate from the guard, so you can remove it and still guard the blade, unlike the standard blade guard that comes with the table saw.
The quality of the uniguard is first rate. The large tube you see in the picture is heavy gauge steel. The only improvement I might suggest is making the blade guard (the pieces directly over the blade) were a little wider. I like the guard to be centered over the blade, but in this position, you can't fully tilt the blade without hitting the inside of the guard. All that means is that you have to shift the guard to the right an inch or two when you tilt the blade. Not a big deal. The tray on the big black bar is handy, but could stand to be an inch or two deeper and wider.
My uniguard arrived in a rather heavy, long narrow box with 1/4" plywood backing. Set up is relatively straightforward, and takes about an hour. Depending on your saw, you may have to drill a couple of holes in the underside of your extension table to mount the bracket, but that is a pretty simple procedure. Another pair of hands is useful in holding the big black bar while mounting (it gets pretty heavy while trying to adjust it) but I managed to do it alone. The instructions caution against having the power cord from the table saw motor come in contact with the guard. On my saw (Delta 10" contractors platinum edition) this clearance is very tight, but there is no rubbing of the cord.
As you can probably tell, I'm convinced the uniguard adds considerably to the safety of my table saw. And, if for no other reason than I spent a chunk of change to get it, I'll be using it every time I turn on the saw.

For through-cutting, the guard has a removable splitter with anti-kickback pawls that afford the operator additional safety. HTC 10A-L Brett-Guard Table Saw Guard Review

HTC 10A-L Brett-Guard Table Saw Guard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I first saw this product in the "Mastering Your Table Saw" DVD (which is a great DVD). If you get this DVD, you'll see it being used all the time. I purchased it for my Dewalt DW746 table saw.
The guard is clear so you can see the cutting action, and easily and quickly slides in and out on two steel support rods. Once you have its mounting plate attached to your table, you can remove the entire guard assembly with the twist of a knob. Very nice.
I see so many people using their saws without any guard at all (mostly because the stock guards are so bad). That's just not an option for me, because I know someday I'll make a mistake. Hopefully, the HTC guard system will keep me safe when that happens.
Note: If you purchase the left hand mount version and have a deep left hand extension table (like the Bench Dog router table), you might need the 30" support rods (my unit came with the 24" rods, which are fine for most applications). If you do need the longer rods, contact HTC directly [...]. They swapped my 24" rods out for 30" rods. Awesome customer service.

The HTC Brett-Guard Table Saw Guard is designed to overcome the objection "we can't guard that operation." The saw guard is exceptionally effective and easy to use, and provides excellent protection in a package ideally suited to 10-inch contractor style saws (it also works on cabinet saws). Its fully adjustable inverted box-type transparent shield provides safety while performing virtually any cutting operation. When properly adjusted, the adjustable fixed barrier guard will not ride up, or climb over the work piece or, more importantly, your fingers, providing excellent protection from the blade. The clear shield is firmly suspended over your work in either a cantilever or tabletop mount, and the anti-kickback mechanism can be retracted for working with soft materials or veneers. Each guard is OSHA and ANSI compliant and also includes a splitter.

INCRA LS32-TS TS-LS Table Saw Fence 32-Inch Range Review

INCRA LS32-TS TS-LS Table Saw Fence 32-Inch Range
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For those of you wondering what the difference is between the Saw Tooth TSIII Table saw fence from Incra and the Lead Screw or LS-32 I will try and explain.
I was originally slated to purchase the SawTooth version or ST TSIII as it is known and then canceled my order after talking with an Incra rep. He told me that both of the fences were equally good , but that the LS had some advantages with positioning and movement. I told him I went with the ST TSIII in the beginning because all the reviews here at Amazon were for it only and it was more expensive than this LS version. I figured it must be better. He laughed and explained that he does not know why Amazon offers the pricing structure they do. Amazon sells the ST TSIII for more than the LS-32. It should be the other way around. The LS-32 is the new and improved model.
He went on to tell me that both are extremely great and function in the same way, however the Lead Screw has moved the micro adjuster right next to the saw fence making it much easier to dial in because you can see what you are doing. He also talked about the saw tooth movement versus the screw based movement. That he said was a personal preference. Both will function the same in the end, but the LS is what is being promoted by INCRA in all their product lines, not the ST TSIII. Out side of that they are essentially the same product and you could not go wrong with either. However, why pay more for the Sawtooth?? Thats just dumb to me.
Onto the REVIEW:
I was tired of double checking every time I wanted to adjust my fence. The LS makes it so easy and so perfect. It glides nicely along the rails and effortlessly locks into place. I have cut a few hundred BF of hard maple at different widths for some cabinet faces and doors and there has been no flex in the fence or deviation what so ever. I measure the cuts every now and them with a micrometer just to check and it is dead on to .003 of an inch every time. WOW!
This fence will encourage you to make precise cuts. I also want to add that before I switched this fence I was cutting the same hard maple. I am using a WWII blade and every now and then I would get burn marks. With this fence it does not happen except occasionally due to springy wood grain only ...not the alignment like the other fence. This was a big deal for me because I was forced to run 2 passes to get the correct size. Not anymore!
I believe another benefit of the fence is that it is much wider/longer than my old fence by about 6 inches so there is extra infeed and outfeed length to help guide the board.
I can not say enough good things about this product. I have recently ordered the miter5000 sled after my good experience and will be reviewing it shortly. The fence did take me about 2 hours to setup because I had to drill holes in my table top, however I have a non standard width of 23 1/2" versus the 27" . Otherwise expect the install to take a good 1 hour to do after you disassemble your original fence.
My cheazy little contractor saw equiped with the INCRA LS-32, the Miter5000 and a WoodWorkerII blade performs flawlessly. I do not think I could get a better cut on a unisaw.Cons: Only one, and only if you have space issues
When you are cutting a board of 24" or wider you will need 5-6 feet to the right of your blade. it does leave a good size footprint in the shop.

The new INCRA LS32-TS offers the one thing that every table saw fence should have that none does - namely, Automatic Positioning Control. All other table saws doepend on a tape measure and your eyesight to position your work. That\'s why all table saw users are resigned to the fact that a good cut requires long set-up times and endless trial and error. The INCRA TS-LS completely eliminates the need for these tedious processes by using INCRA\'S patented lead screw technology to position your work instantly and automatically to within 0.002".Even better, if you want to repeat a cut, you can return to any former position in less than 5 seconds with ZERO repeatability error. This kind of accuracy and perfect repeatability are luxuries that woodworkers could only dream about before the INCRA TS-LS. And because of its structural design, centrally placed carriage, and optimized side mounted clamping system, the entire unit virtually welds itself together into one solid block of steel and aluminum when locked in place. The result is exceptional strength, rigidity and stability.
